How to speed up WordPress with LiteSpeed Cache

The server runs LiteSpeed, so the free LSCache plugin gives the biggest speed-up for the least effort.

  1. Install the plugin
In WordPress open Plugins → Add New, search for LiteSpeed Cache, click Install then Activate.
  2. Enable caching
In LiteSpeed Cache → Cache make sure caching is on (Enable Cache).
  3. Optimise images
Resize images to their displayed size before publishing. Oversized images are the most common reason for a slow site.
  4. Check the PHP version
A current PHP version performs better. See how to change the version.
  5. Remove the excess
Delete unused plugins and themes. Every active plugin adds load.
TipAfter major changes to the site, purge the cache (LiteSpeed Cache → Purge All) so visitors see the new version.
